Basically, I am crazily in love with this person. And because I am so in love, I am absolutely incapable of interacting normally with them. I avoid them, leave rooms when they enter, talk weirdly, it's ridiculous and it's sad. I'm sure they've noticed but I just can't figure out how to do anything about it. Literally this is horrible. They're amazing, amazingly cute, amazingly smart, just awesome. And super-cool, just to make my total social inepititude even more glaringly obvious. I'm a nerdy anarchist headcase, there's literally no way this could happen even if I was capable of rational speech in their presence. Any advice is welcome, but to be honest there's little anyone can do :(
Apologies for the gloomy post... :(
A lot of people I know seem to have this problem. Maybe write them a letter or email saying, 'oh hey I like you but I;m too shy to express myself well!'
ReplyDeleteaw thank you! ... meep, why is it so complicated to love somebody :( I think you're right though, a letter is good because it gives you space to really explain what you want to say. Maybe I will do that... :) thank you for the good advice!
DeleteThe chemical reaction of love has all sorts of awful side effects doesn't it? The guy I'm hopelessly entangled with does everything in his power to make me feel comfortable at all times, but eye contact is still excruciating, so I totally feel ya!
ReplyDeleteSometimes, just getting out of your comfort zone and literally forcing yourself to stay put, stay calm, look at them and just speak can work wonders. Its terrifying at first, but definitely gets easier over time.
Best of luck!
Heh... I try, but it is so terrifying (and usually ends in humiliation :( )! Thanks for the solidarity though :p I hope you are soon able to feel more confident with the guy you are in love with too! :)
